When Bloomberg first launched the Bloomberg Terminal in 1981, computers and internet access were relatively uncommon within the investment management landscape. Ever since, terminals are a necessary expense for any professional investor or trader.

In short, terminals are portals that centralise financial data and market news. Investors use them as research and analysis platforms to inform their trading strategies, while also as tools to support their trading.
