Market data vs alternative data: Where do we draw the line?

In late 2024, Neudata launched its market-data research product, Ranger. Together with Scout, we now offer both market data and alternative data insights. Historically, there has not been a universal definition for each of these terms, so in this Intelligence report we aim to standardise industry terminology. We discuss the characteristics that, in our view, distinguish a market data product from an alternative data one.
