Corporations may have a skeletal external data team at first. This intelligence piece lays out the roles needed in the process of onboarding external data, and the existing service providers that these functions can be outsourced to. We also analyse the results from a recent Neudata survey of 45 data providers on corporate data buyers’ needs.

OUTSOURCING SERVICES

There are a range of providers out there that offer services to assist with data collection, data processing, and data cleaning. Using these service providers in the early stages of developing an external data team can help an organisation to understand the capabilities and skillsets that may need to be onboarded.  However, outsourcing these capabilities as part of a long-term strategy would not be advisable. Once an organisation understands the skills it needs, an in-house team would be more cost effective.
